5 out of 5 stars Caffeine supplementation speeds up your metabolism. Control what goes in your mouth, and you'll benefit from the use of caffeine   March 11, 2007

This review is for the actual product itself, and not a statement on caffeine and it's use for dieting. At 100 tabs for around $6, this is a bargain. I've used it for staying awake during long rides home and for long periods of study and work, where time is of the essence. I haven't seen as many people b___ and complain about the consumption of coffee as I have about caffeine tablets. As to why people b___ and complain about the use of caffeine tablets in place of coffee is beyond me.

When I wake up during the day I have two cups of coffee throughout the day and then I usually have a energy drink or two before work since I work third shift at UPS. The cost gets steep after awhile so I figured I had better look into something else. I had always heard bad things about caffeine pills and their evilness but upon a review about it I came to the conclusion that the arguments aren't really easy to uphold. Most people will drink coffee and energy drinks but think negatively of caffeine pills for some odd reason. Caffeine should still be taken in moderation of course and it is no answer to a lack of sleep as well. Two hundred milligrams is suffice to get me through the night and help keep me alert anything above would make me jittery and over energized. I need to get to sleep when I get home six hours later so these are perfect for what I need them to do. I don't really think I have too much caffeine in my day since I am never jittery or crazy feeling. I consider coffee just my daily routine and now instead of energy drinks I can get a kick to get me through work.

Overall these pills give me a good boost to help me get through my night at work and so far no bad side effects. I did notice I can't sleep sometimes so my solution was just to take a pill a little earlier. I take a whole pill since I am not really to sensitive to caffeine but if you don't know how you will react than you should probably go with a half or so. You will know pretty fast if you had to much so just don't over do it and don't feel you have to absolutely always have them to get through what you need. You can probably get a good habit going if you think you absolutely have to have pills to get you through everything. Make sure you sleep enough since there is no substitute for it or you might find yourself driving and feeling the need to close your eyes to rest a second and not have them reopen. If you don't like coffee or energy drinks I would say these would be the best way to go to get a caffeine kick.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing, for many, many reasons   March 2, 2010

I am a college student - a computer engineer, at that. This means that caffeine is almost required to keep up with school. I have a very high caffeine tolerance, so an all-nighter would usually amount to me drinking about 4 energy drinks. This would lead to me urinating frequently, being all sugared up, and still being a little sleepy (because energy drinks are primarily herbal stimulants, NOT caffeine). Also, 4 16oz. drinks would total almost 1000 calories, and it really began to add up. So, fed up with this, I went with caffeine pills. I was a little nervous at first, because something about taking a stimulant in pill form was intimidating to me.

No longer!

There are a few things that one should realize about caffeine pills:

---Caffeine is very, very hard to take too much of. The bottle recommends to not take more than three per day, and I almost never exceed this, but you would need to take a lot more than three in rapid succession to start experiencing any negative side effects.
---Pure caffeine leads to a much more focused, natural mindset than a sugared one.
---200mg (the dosage per pill) is not an absurdly high dose. A standard cup of coffee, depending on size, has 100-150 mg of caffeine in it.
---Taking one pill every 2-3 hours has led to some of the most productive all-nighters I have ever done.
---Your tolerance to caffeine will build very, very quickly.
---Although I did not experience any severe withdrawal symptoms when stopping, taking these regularly and then quitting cold turkey could really get you. If you experience bad headaches and irritability after stopping a morning coffee routine, then these pills are not for you.
---Since starting these, I have stopped drinking energy drinks and soda altogether; I have lost weight from not drinking soda, my grades have improved, and I have more money.

For me, these pills were a win-win decision. I have no doubt that experience varies from person to person, but I also strongly recommend trying these out.

It keeps me awake when I need to be and I think it disturbs my stomach less than coffee does. The bad thing is that there is no fun in taking a pill of caffeine rather than a drink, and that's why I mostly drink diet coke now. On the other hand you can't keep coke or coffee in your poket for whenever you need it. I also avoid taking these pills because I usually need to stay awake just for a few hours and then go to sleep, but with these pills the latter is sometimes impossible. I am trying to take halfs and quarters of a pill now.

I use this on a regular basis now to feel awake. I don't use it at school, as there are interesting things going on at school unless if you're in a library. I take a scissor and cut each of my pills in half to break it down and I chew on it.
